A rural setting full of wonder and charm both inside and out
The Venue – Ceremony
Weddings at Marks Hall take place at the Coach House which is situated on the site of a Mansion House in the Essex countryside. In the summer months you can opt for your ceremony to be outside; the private garden has a pretty gazebo structure to hold the formalities amongst the attractive flowers in full bloom. Due to it being outside, the photographs you receive can be light, bright and airy portraying the relaxed and joyful day. There is also plenty of room for your photographer to walk around and capture the service from a variety of angles.
The Venue – Reception
The Coach House building itself is a sizeable 18th century barn with stunning exposed brick and beams. Holding up to 150 people for the wedding breakfast this is a perfect place for a large celebration. The barn oozes character and charm but you can decorate it yourself too if you wish to add a personal touch. Once the tables are moved back, there is plenty of room for a fantastic disco in the evening.
Outside of the private garden are hundreds of acres of beautiful grounds available for your use. There are so many photo opportunities here we would suggest you definitely leave plenty of time for your portraits to really make the most of the surroundings. Enjoy a stroll to the lake and over the bridge to a more wooded area, for a variety of backdrops for your first pictures as Mr. and Mrs.
In our opinion, Marks Hall is a very special place and we would certainly advise you to go and see it in person. With the charming Coach House and wonderful grounds it sets a delightful atmosphere for your wedding. They have a wedding co-ordinator to help you plan and organise your day and in our experience, she was excellent at ensuring everything went without a hitch.
